The second Big Love Across London: ‘The Big Lovathon’ took place on June 3rd 2006, and saw sixteen different teams rushing around the streets of our glorious capital completing a series of tasks and challenges. This year there were no reported arrests, and indeed relations with the Met have been drastically improved by so many Big Lovers having their photos taken holding a police man’s truncheon. Other fantastic examples of Big Lovers’ activities include a stealth rave on the last carriage of a District Line tube, plenty of flesh-flashing in shop windows (and even naked toilet-testing in a bathroom window), and getting intimate with salesmen in bed shops. Prizes included £500 cash for the winning team (of which they generously gave back a large chunk), bottles of fine champagne, Chelsea match tickets, and signed photos of such luminaries as Right Said Fred.

The day was a huge success, and we’d like to thank everyone who came along for the treasure hunt, and also those who joined us for the party in the evening. Together we managed to raise over £1400 pounds to be shared between Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
